EXPERIENCE

The work we undertake can vary considerably from one client to another, depending on the brief. The following short list gives a flavour of some of these areas of work:
Quasi-Governmental
Meridian has undertaken three years of contract work for the European Commission, advising on communications for the Hungarian Finance Ministry and on new business development for SMEs.

Banks and Building Societies
We are employed by Nationwide as advisors to its specialist lender, UCB Home Loans, where we are involved primarily in the formulation of the communications strategy, media relations, research, issues tracking and communications training. We also research, write and publish reports on the housing market – a specialist area in which our consultants have been involved for almost 30 years.

Law
Meridian’s consultants have over 20 years of experience in running communications programmes for law firms, from major City practices to smaller specialist businesses such as Bishop & Sewell. Our work varies in content from one firm to another, but usually includes media relations and strategy formulation.

Financial Services
For some clients, our work may be purely in a single area. A case in point here is Zurich Insurance, where we have conducted annual research among the client base of Zurich Financial Services as part of a programme designed to improve levels of service. Our work for Friends Provident has involved a combination of media relations and product launches in the UK, as well as conducting research among key business leaders in Hong Kong.

Insurance
Our work for Zurich came as a result of our long association with Home & Overseas Insurance, part of the Eagle Star Group, which is now owned by Zurich. Our work for Home & Overseas covered all areas of corporate communications, including a complete corporate identity review, an annual employee research project, the research and writing of quarterly market reports, and the running of a busy media relations programme.

Management Consultancy
For management consultancy Millennium Group, we have primarily been involved in the fields of media relations and the production of corporate reports.

Travel Insurance
For travel insurer Club Direct, we have undertaken an extremely broad communications programme incorporating a complete corporate identity review, corporate positioning work, the development and implementation of a comprehensive media relations programme, research, issues tracking, training, crisis planning, design and literature production.
